Dynamic Osteopathic Technique ( D.O.T.)
Still's concept of the lesion is one of
the cornerstones of osteopathy; his idea was that once the body
had deviated from its original design blueprint (and was therefore
in 'lesion') it could no longer function as intended and some
of degree of dysfunction and illness was sure to follow.
The idea of lesion was expanded further by Littlejohn, with his
back ground in physiology, when he encouraged Osteopaths to consider
if a person was in lesion with their environment- this substantially
widened the scope of osteopathic attention from solely considering
the body as their domain to including more distant factors, such
as working environment, pollution and diet for example as possible
causes of ill health.
Dynamic Osteopath Technique continues this osteopathic development
of the idea of the lesion by considering not just the person's
structure, or the relationship between them and their environment
but also the relationship between the person and themselves- are
they in lesion with themselves, the life they would love to be
living and their life's purpose?
Dynamic Osteopath Technique forms an essential part of the Lightning
Process, for more information on this powerful application of
